Basic Facts About San Diego

Sunday, June 4th, 2006

San Diego is very popular with tourists and it’s easy to see why. Great beaches, fun things to do both in and around the city, and let’s not forget the shopping!

The city of San Diego has a population of more than 1 million people. It’s the second largest city in California and the sixth biggest in the United States. However, most of the city doesn’t have that big city feel. You can get that feeling if you like in the downtown area, but otherwise San Diego has the friendly feel of a much smaller city.

The weather here in San Diego is amazing. Even during a winter visit you’re likely to have several sunny days. No guarantees, of course, but chances are pretty good. The average high temperature is around 70 degrees. Visitors are known to go to the beach year round, as are locals. The various beaches are generally sandy and beautiful. (more…)

We took the kids this week to the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center. This was always a favorite when growing up.

Let’s Get to Know San Diego

Welcome!

I decided to start this site as a mother of two who missed being a San Diego native by two years, that being the age I was when I moved here. Aside from a couple years at college, I’ve never lived anyplace else. It’s a great city with plenty to do.

With two young children, I’m always on the lookout for things to do here. We go to parks regularly, Sea World, the Zoo and Wild Animal Park, and so forth. I love that the weather much of the year is good enough for outdoor activities.
